The image of a lion decorates this heavily corroded bronze fragment from an armored belt. Scenes of chariots, horsemen and archers hunting lions, bulls and other animals are typical decorative motifs on Urartian belts. A hole preserved along the upper edge would have been used to attach the fragment to the leather strap of the belt.
