View of the living quarters of the Union Army soldiers at Fort Sedgwick, or Fort Hell. The quarters are supported by wooden frames and walls built into large mounds of earth, and outfitted with chimneys made of wood barrels to vent smoke from stoves used for heat. Two men stand among the quarters on the left.
