>And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord." >(Apocalypse 14:13) An angel descends from heaven with a pen and an inkpot, which he hands to Saint John, ready with parchment and a penknife. To the right, a woman mourns over four dead men. Angels above carry the souls of the departed directly to heaven, a sign that they are among the blessed who have died in the Lord.
