Group portrait of a large number of people, mostly men and children, posing in front of a "rumah gadang," the traditional residence of the Minangkabau people. It features a number of "gonjong" or horn-like curved elements of the roof and ornately decorated wooden walls. Other smaller but similarly designed buildings, possibly "rangkiang" or rice barns, can be seen in front of it. A number of people also look out of the house's windows.
