View of a detail of the monument to Cristoforo Tomati at the Cimitaro Monumentale di Staglieno in Genoa. The stone monument features an effigy of Tomati, his head resting on a decorative pillow and his hands clutching a cross on his chest, lying on a bier decorated with angels and floral garland. The figure of a man, probably Jesus, stands beside the bier with his arms out to the sides and clouds surrounding his feet. The figure of a woman kneels in front of the base of the monument with her hands clasped together in prayer. Three floral wreaths rest against the base, which is inscribed with the words "A CRISTOFORO TOMATI LA FIGLIA FIDANDO IN DIO CONSOLATORE".
