This statuette portraying Aphrodite is a modern work originally thought to have been a third century B.C. original. The small nude female torso, broken below at mid-abdomen, is in a twisted pose with the head turning toward the right shoulder. The hair is long and wavy and brushed back from the forehead. It is held in place with a flat band 0.4 cm wide. Long wavy tendrils of hair fall onto her neck and shoulders. The eyes and mouth are small. Two incised Venus marks are on the front of the neck. The surface of the marble is finely finished.
