Photograph of "Flight of the Pagan Deities on the Dawn of Christianity," also known as "The Birth of Christianity," a painting by Frederick Richard Pickersgill. The painting depicts possibly the Virgin Mary carrying the Christ Child and standing in the center of the image, surrounded by nude nymphs and other mythological figures, most of whom appear to be fleeing the scene. An inventory number is visible on the lower left corner of the painting.
