Discus Iconography: Vanquished gladiator (essedarius) with right knee on the ground near his oval shield; part of a composition of two gladiators, as on 83.AQ.377.60, of Loeschcke type IV. Description: Moldmade, from plaster mold. Shoulder: Loeschcke form III a. Filling-hole in lower field with remains of corroded iron wick-nail. Voluted angular-tipped nozzle. Base marked off by one circular groove.
