From the Getty Museum record
A man dressed in the uniform of the Chasseurs à Pied of the Imperial Guard standing in front of the entrance to the Grotto of Massabielle at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. An iron grate blocks the entrance into the cave and people are gathered outside of it, looking in. A statue of the Virgin Mary by Joseph-Hugues Fabisch is installed in a niche above the entrance to the cavern. A man behind a fountain is to the left of the soldier.
