View of the High Bridge, a stone viaduct that spans across a dry creekbed of the Brandywine River. The viaduct is supported by nine visible arches and appears to be largely completed in this image. Only bricks and wooden planks are stored under its arches. The remnant of a pier for an older bridge can be seen in the foreground, and a number of people are gathering by a locomotive on the far end of the bridge. The town of Coatesville is spread across a hillside on the right area of the image.
