> This particular print, taken on the Wannsee in Berlin, was one of ninety-seven László Moholy-Nagy photographs shown at the 1929 *Film und Foto* exhibition. It was subsequently published in Franz Roh’s *L. Moholy-Nagy: 60 Fotos* (1930), where positive and negative versions of this photograph were printed side by side. Roh called this negative version an “inversion and enhancement of the former picture.” The print de-emphasizes the subject in order to focus attention on formal concerns, such as the play of light on the surface of the water, in a way that is related to the photograms. > > Katherine Ware, *László Moholy-Nagy*, In Focus: Photographs from the J.
