The book consists of 26 leaves of alternating text and photographs, in a handmade wooden binding. The wood was salvaged from discarded crates, pallets, and the like. The earliest copies of the book were fabricated by George Maciunas, with Mekas taking over production after Maciunas's death in 1978.
