The left scroll shows a rabbit jumping from the moon into the ocean. According to legend, a rabbit resides on the moon, where he pounds rice flour into sticky rice cakes (mochi). The large harvest moon references autumn, while the swallows in the right scroll are associated with spring and summer. Japan, Asia
