This is a superb example of a complex warp jaspe. Simple jaspe patterns consist of one or two separate figures ( labores ) in each warp stripe, but this one combines seven different designs and reverses them midway to create a mirror image. The thread for the colored figures is dyed first in the base color, then over-dyed in indigo once the labores have been tied. K'iche' Maya, Guatemala, Americas
