Christ sits at the centre radiating light, his arm reaching toward the reclining Saint John, while apostles around them gesticulate in shock, with cups, plates, a roast bird, and a tall pewter jug cut in Dürer's famously precise lines. In a single small print, the Reformation's tensions are right there on the table.
