This winter-evening scene depicts the Drum Bridge, a rare stone bridge that got its name from its drum-shaped form. The stone bridge was completed in 1769, but torrential rain washed it away in 1920, after which it was replaced, first by a wooden bridge and then a steel one. Displayed are versions no. 2 and no. 4 of six. Version no. 2 (top) carries a yellow title cartouche with orange clouds, and there is shading on the roof of the hut on the left. The version below was printed much darker, as a night view, and has a pink title cartouche with red and purple clouds. Japan, Asia
