Statuette fragment (throne)

Throne, probably part of a statuette with a seated figure. Inlaid with gold, the front side features a double frame: the outer decorated with perpendicular lines, the inner plain. The sides are framed with an outer border and an inner loop pattern, with a space in the rear corner decorated with a papyrus plant. On the rear part of the backrest, a cartouche of Nebmaatra is flanked by two uraei crowned with solar disks; only the right uraeus retains its gilding. In the central section are depicted an ankh sign between two was scepters, placed above a nb hieroglyph (Gardiner V30). The throne rests on an Egyptian-corniche plinth, also inlaid with gold. The lower part of each side is recessed, probably to accommodate inlays. The interior of the throne is hollow and retains the remains of two tenons under the short sides: the front one appears circular in section, while the section of the rear one is square.
