Harpocrates statuette

Standing figure of Harpocrates, in Hellenistic style. The god wears a kalathos, his hair is long and curly, and his face is round and stylised, with visible eyes and nose. The figure's weight is on the right leg, with the right index finger held to the mouth, while the left arm holds a cornucopia and leans onto a tree trunk around which a snake is coiled. Harpocrates has a pair of small wings, and between them is a horizontally placed suspension loop. He wears a bulla around his neck. To the right of the figure of Harpocrates is a small figure, possibly a cat, while to the left is a small falcon. All the figures rest on a rectangular base. The statuette is mounted on a modern plexiglass stand. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts. Dimensions: 2.2 cm x 4 cm x 1.2 cm. Museum location: Not on display.
