Survival in the netherworld depended on the enduring memory of the name of the deceased – who is mentioned in the inscription above – and in the eternal repetition of the ritual of the presenting of the offerings needed for his sustenance –depicted in the main scene. Itjer is portrayed sitting in front of a table laden with slices of bread shown vertically, as Egyptian artistic conventions prescribed. The hieroglyphs above and beside the table mention other offerings, including incense (senetjer), fruit (ished) and wine (irep). In the right panel, a relief possibly added later shows Pereret-nefer, a priestess of the goddess Neith, who shares in the offerings. Dimensions: 88 cm x 40 cm x 8 cm.
