This statuette of the Hindu god Vishnu has undergone some modifications in the course of time. The deity holds a discus (cakra) in his raised right hand, while his lowered left hand probably rested on a club (gada). However, his lower right arm is curious: it was probably bent originally, and straightened for symmetry during a later restoration. The rayed nimbus behind his head in any case was added later.
