This is one of the most richly ornamented Dutch cupboards from the 17th century. The turned columns are solid ebony. The ‘cushion mouldings’, or rectangular protrusions resembling well-stuffed feather pillows on the outside of the doors, provide space for a set of small drawers on the inside. The interior of the cupboard is veneered with decorative patterns of ebony, rosewood, and amaranth.
The authoritative record is held by Rijksmuseum. LinkedCulture surfaces this object and its connections; it does not alter institutional metadata.
