This state chair likely comes from the workshop of the sculptor Jan Baptiste Xavery, which was overseen by his widow, Maria Christina Robart, after his death. The chair was commissioned for Stadtholder William IV by the Admiralty of Amsterdam, the administration of the fleet. <br>
