These two sauceboats have exactly the same form, but different decorations. The orange-red painting on one of the boats accentuates the underlying moulded relief decoration. The second was left almost entirely white, with the exception of the gold and red trim. It imitates extremely expensive German porcelain, which was sometimes sparsely decorated.
