In 1737, Carolina of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Queen of England, commissioned a series of portrait busts of the queens of England. However, she passed away before the commission was completed. Her daughter, Anna of Hanover, placed this bust in one of her private chambers at the Stadtholder’s Court as a memento of her mother.
