A singer stands on the stage near the terrace of the chic café-concert ‘Aux Ambassadeurs’ in the embassy quarter of Paris. Just visible in the background are the outlines of the row of trees lining the Champs-Élysées. Lautrec wrote the performer’s stage name, ‘La Diva du Seine’ (The diva of the Seine) on an impression of the print. We do not know who this was.
