From LinkedCulture
In 1639, Rembrandt etched heaven cracking open directly above a deathbed. Mary reclines beneath a canopied bed, surrounded by mourners and physicians, while a swirling burst of angels erupts into the space above them. Rembrandt printed this impression on Japanese paper, chosen for its warm tone and soft ink absorption, giving the scene a luminous glow you simply don't see in standard versions. It remains one of the largest and most ambitious prints he ever made.
