Gropius had written about Bauhaus celebrations already in his Bauhaus manifesto in 1919. He attached importance to cheerful, ceremonial gatherings for teachers and students. Invitations to these festivities were designed by teachers, such as Wassily Kandinsky, and printed by the Bauhaus; for instance, this one to the Kite Festival.
