Presumably made during Savery’s trip in the Tyrol, this drawing was once owned by Rembrandt. In the description of his estate, mention is made of a large book containing drawings that Savery made in the Tyrol. After Rembrandt went bankrupt, this album became the property of Lambert Doomer, a gifted amateur draughtsman. Doomer copied several of the drawings in the book, including this one.
