Two women are rehearsing a duet for guitar and voice under the guidance of a music teacher. Given that women were not supposed to become professional musicians at that time, they usually received musical training in the home. Recitals also took place there. Wind instruments were not considered suitable for women, but singing, or playing the piano, harp and guitar were.
