The oldest of the three kings kneels reverently before the new-born Christ child whilst kissing his foot and presenting the Virgin Mary with a gold goblet. The middle-aged king, in the centre, is removing his crown as a sign of devotion. This adoration is a fragment of what was originally a much larger canvas containing scenes from the life and passion of Christ.
