Francesco Fontebasso trained with Sebastiano Ricci, but it was another Venetian artist, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, who probably had the greatest influence on Fontebasso's art. Early in his training, Fontebasso studied Tiepolo's frescoes and eventually came in contact with the venerated artist.
