Moving to Fukushima from the Thai city of Udon Thani, Masato Seto came to Japan in 1960 with his Japanese father and Thai mother. He relocated to Tokyo as a young man and graduated from Tokyo Photography School in 1975. He then served as an assistant to the innovative, subjective photographer Masahisa Fukase until 1982; a debilitating accident suffered by Fukase in 1992 brought Seto back into his
