This long, slender bow is carved from a single piece of dark hardwood. It has a smooth, undecorated surface and a gentle natural curvature. Shallow grooves are cut into each end to secure a bowstring. The bow’s simple, functional design is characteristic of the Aeta (or Agta) people of the island of Luzon in the northern Philippines.
