This side-handled sencha teapot has the lid flush against the body, forming an oblong orb. It is decorated with a sprinkling of similar chrysanthemum motifs in red, green, and purple overglaze color enamels with centers of pale red dotted with gold. This teapot with chrysanthemum motifs shows off Seifū Yohei III’s technique of enamels painted over the glaze.
