This teapot with recessed lid has a bold, realistic design of pale yellow and white chrysanthemums rendered in overglaze color enamels and dotted gold centers. Black contour lines define the yellow and white flowers and their green stems and leaves. Small pink and purple chrysanthemums are rendered as simple motifs, their shapes defined in contrast to the white ground of the pot. This side-handled teapot is designed for brewing and serving sencha.
