His father Amasis, also a potter, was presumably successful enough that his son thought it would help his own business to stress the connection. A foot in two steps. The lower half of the first step (from the stem) is reserved. The side is also reserved with the inscription SIDOS HYYS. The underside is black glossed except for a thick band around the edge.
